School Trips/Outings
To enrich the curriculum, we plan and arrange school outings and workshops across the school. We have visited places like Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum, Longdown Activity Farm and Marwell Zoo. We also explore our local area with walks to Bitterne Library and Hum Hole (our local woods).
We rely on our parents and carers to make a contribution towards the cost of the trips, as the school budget cannot fund them in total; coach travel alone for a trip can cost as much as £1500 in addition to entry fees. Sometimes our parent committee FOG are able to help towards these costs with money which has been raised during the year.
Parents can pay for trips via MCAS. Unfortunately, if we cannot raise enough money from parents’ and carers’ contributions, the trips cannot go ahead and will need to be cancelled.
If you are in the position to be able to afford to donate extra towards the trip, it is very much appreciated. This can be done via the trip donation button in the MCAS app.
